immersed has been exhibited in Brisbane at The Queensland
University Art Museum, in Hobart at the C.A.S.T Gallery,
and in Sydney at the Performance Space.
A meditation on the experience of the performer and
their immersion within a
performed moment.
This work continues my investigation into the possibilities
of transcribing aspects of dance performance into site
and time specific installation works.
Through capturing aspects of the dance and performance
on video, moments that are ephemeral in performance,
are distilled, expanded and given time and space to
resonate.
The work invites the spectator to contemplate and
engage in the experience of the choreographer and performer.
To float, to drift and to sail in thoughts, actions
and stillness.
To become immersed.
immersed is the outcome of a creative development
project funded by The Australia Council for the Arts
Dance Fund.
For further information of technical details and
availability for exhibition please contact John Utans.
